In our quest to become one of the first economically-sustainable crypto projects with a regenerative token ecosystem, Presearch is undertaking a trial to add banner ads to search results that should significantly increase revenue into the project.
Ads will continue to respect user privacy, and are provided by Coinzilla, which powers much of the display advertising across other crypto sites you probably frequent — top news sites and data aggregator sites, block explorers, etc., are all running banners from Coinzilla.
Minimizing the downsides of banners
We are making banners as unobtrusive as possible while ensuring they still receive enough eyeballs to make them valuable to advertisers who in-turn pay value into the Presearch ecosystem.
Banner ads remain one of the largest and most viable monetization methods for web properties, and will help fund development and user acquisition efforts for Presearch while demand is building for keyword advertising.
Banners and Search Staking
Because Presearch is dedicated to supporting user choice, and because we understand that many won’t like banner ads, we believe that it makes sense to enable users to turn banners off by staking PRE through search staking (which also enables you to earn more rewards when you search). While this feature is not yet active, we plan to release it soon.
In the meantime, we appreciate your feedback and support as we look to activate this revenue stream on a trial basis, and will share results that the project is able to generate by implementing this tried and tested monetization method.
